Hi @Weeve

Welcome to the HP Support Community! Thanks for posting your query!

I understand—it’s frustrating when you can’t remember the printer password and need to reset it. To guide you properly, I’ll need to clarify a few details first so we can isolate the situation:

  • Are you referring to the Wi‑Fi Direct password (used to connect devices directly to the printer), the Embedded Web Server (EWS) password, or the HP account login linked to the printer?
  • When you try to print, do you see a password prompt on your computer or mobile device, or is it appearing on the printer’s control panel itself?
  • Have you previously set a custom password, or are you trying to recover the default one that came with the printer?
  • Is the printer currently connected to your home Wi‑Fi network, or are you using Wi‑Fi Direct to connect devices?

Once I know which password is causing the issue and how it’s being requested, I can share the exact steps to reset or change it. Could you tell me a bit more about which of these applies to your situation?

We're looking forward to helping you get back up and running!

Regards,

Hawks_Eye
