Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

First I could send to printer but not scan from printer (scanner couldn't find laptop).  Looking at helpdesk, the virtual tech said to uninstall driver for 8710, so I did.  BIG MISTAKE.  Now I can't print, either!  I've installed HP Smart, which is stupid, when it can't find your printer.  And hp.123.com doesn't work to provide drivers to download.

How do I get the original drivers for my 8710 Photosmart so I can use it for something other than a copier!  HELP!

If this is your printer:

HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 All-in-One Printer series

then the Full Feature Software is here:

HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 All-in-One Print and Scan Driver and Accessories

Check Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features

If the printer software is still listed,

Click on the software and Uninstall

After the software is uninstalled, Restart the computer and log in

Check Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers

If the printer is still listed under Devices,

Right-Click on the printer and Remove

Then Restart the computer and log in

  • Download-and-Save the printer software (Full Feature Software / HP Smart / Easy Start)
  • Navigate to the folder in which you saved the software installation package (likely Downloads)
  • Right-Click on the downloaded package and "Run as Administrator" to start the installation
  • Reminder:  If using Easy Start, select the Full Driver
  • After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in
