So last week I tried all those steps and it did not help.
Today, I started through them again from the top and this time a "print in color" option appeared in the print dialog near in the "Copies" section at the top of the dialog.
Strangely, that option did not appear until after I restarted Outlook.
I wonder if the new print driver needed to re-sync with Outlook - hence the need to restart Outlook...
That appears to be the case.
I needed restart Outlook to get the color option.
I also needed to restart Safari to get the color option.

Hi @billyork23 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are trying to resolve the issue where your HP ENVY 6055e All-in-One Printer won't print in color from Outlook on macOS Sequoia 15.0 (which is likely a future macOS version), try the following steps:
1. Check Printer Settings in Outlook:
- Open Outlook and go to the Print dialog.
- In the Print dialog box, look for an option like Copies & Pages or Printer Features.
- Under Printer Settings, ensure that Color is selected instead of Black & White or Grayscale.
2. Check Printer Queue Settings:
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your HP ENVY 6055e printer and click on Options & Supplies.
- Check if there is an option to select Color under Print Quality or Printer Features.
3. Reinstall Printer Driver:
There might be a driver conflict or outdated driver issue. Reinstalling the printer driver may fix it:
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your printer and click the minus (-) sign to remove it.
- Reinstall the driver by downloading the latest driver from the HP support site for macOS Sequoia 15.0.
- After reinstalling, make sure to set the Default Print Settings to Color.
4. Reset Print System:
- Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Right-click (or Control-click) anywhere in the printer list and select Reset Print System.
- Add your printer again and check if you can print in color.
5. Update HP Smart App: HP printer setup (HP Smart app)
Ensure you have the latest version of the HP Smart app:
- Open the App Store on your Mac, go to the Updates tab, and check for any updates related to the HP Smart app.
- If needed, uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart app and test printing in color.
6. Check Outlook Version:
- Ensure that your Outlook is updated to the latest version by going to Help > Check for Updates in Outlook. If you’re using an older version of Outlook, updating it may fix print-related issues.
Refer to this document: HP ENVY 6055e All-in-One Printer User manual
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
