A4 paper is not very large.

Margins, that is, space around each page to separate it from its neighbors, use up more space --  In general, you cannot easily reduce the gutter size.

Shoving four pages of printed content onto one sheet of A4 (or Letter) sized paper, regardless of whether you are trying to combine four separate one page files or print one file with four pages, is going to result in results that might be difficult to read.

If the results are simply too small, consider two pages per sheet instead.

The "two pages per sheet of paper" size only cuts each document page down to 1/2 size instead of 1/4 size.

Adobe Reader can easily print multiple pages per sheet of paper --

First --

If you need to combine four different PDF files, do that -- that is, create a single PDF file made from the fourt original separate files, before you use Adobe Reader to print the resulting single file.

Next --

Basic Instructions --

Not all inclusive --

Some experience with using Adobe Reader software is beneficial ...

NOTE

If your document is longer than four pages, consider testing by printing just the first four pages -- or up to eight pages if you are printing Duplex (front and back).

Open your single PDF file with multiple pages in the file in Adobe Reader software

Click the Print icon to open the Print menu

Open Properties -- For Windows, Select Shortcut "General Everyday Printing"

Close Properties

Back on main print menu...

Under Pages to Print > Select All, Current, or Pages and Page Range

Under Page Sizing & Handling > Select Multiple

In Pages per sheet Select 4 or Custom

2 pages across

2 pages down

Select Page Order >

For example,

Horizontal prints page 1 in top left corner, page 2 in top right corner, page 3 in lower left corner, and page 4 in the lower right corner (See example)

Complete any other menu items necessary to print what you want.

When ready, select Print.
