I have my hp laserjet p1109w connected through a USB and was able to add this printer to my list of devices through the Apple system preferences (however for some reason when I use the HP Smart app it cannot recognize the printer through the USB).
I am able to select the printer when I want to print a document, and it shows in the print queue that the document has printed successfully. However, the printer itself does not print anything.
I know the printer is functionally capable because I am able to print out the Self Test / Device Configuration documents from the printer itself. I also know that the printer shows up in the Apple System preferences when it is connected through the USB. However, I'm wondering if the fact that it will not recognize the device with the HP Smart app may help diagnose why my documents are not printing, even though it says they are in the print queue?
(Also I have tried restarting the printer and my computer, as well as trying different cables and the problem persists)

This Printer does not support HP Smart App.
