My HP OfficeJetPro 8035e is not printing from my HP computer.  There is sufficient ink and it prints from the copy prompt.

Hi @Molly000,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e is printing fine from the copy function, but not printing from your computer. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Check the printer status in Windows

Open Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners.

Make sure the 8035e is Online and not paused or offline.

Make sure the correct printer driver is selected

When printing, confirm the printer shown is HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e (HP Smart / Full Feature).

Avoid the “Class Driver” or “PCL-6” versions, which may not respond properly.

Clear the print queue

Go to the printer in Windows and open the Print Queue.

Delete any stuck or pending jobs, then try printing again.

Restart the computer and the printer

Power the printer on, unplug the power cable for 30 seconds, then reconnect.

Restart your computer as well to refresh the print services.

Check the connection type (Wi-Fi or USB)

If on Wi-Fi, print a Network Report from the printer menu to confirm it’s connected to the same network as your computer.

If using USB, ensure the cable is firmly connected and try a different port.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

This tool automatically fixes common connection and driver issues.

Open it, select your 8035e, and follow the prompts.

Re-add the printer in Windows

Remove the printer from Printers & scanners, then click Add a printer to install it again.

This refreshes the connection and drivers.

Disable VPN or firewall temporarily (if used)

VPNs and strict firewalls can block print jobs to Wi-Fi printers.

Turn them off briefly and test printing.

Check HP Smart app for errors

Open HP Smart and see if any notifications appear.

If it prompts for an update or setup fix, complete those steps.

I hope this helps.
