My printer suddenly starts printing blank pages. 

HP have stopped hp printerdoctor. replacement software useless. 

Detects my printer model+ serial number then does nothing

thanks but i know all these steps.

my printer just prints pages without prompts. 

i need to downlad software & re-install from cdrom but that is blocked in win11. hp website useless as they are not keen to support older printers ( which are cheaper to run ).

this happenned before & i got techhie kid to fix . prev it starts printing a few lines & wasting fll sheet of paper. myt tecchie is busy. camn ytou suggest where i can donwload softwate for the printer?? hp officejet pro 8500 a9096a

I understand your frustration, especially with an older but still reliable printer like the HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909a.

Since HP Printer Doctor is no longer available, and Windows 11 blocks installation from the original CD, the best option is to download and install the full-feature driver/software package directly from HP’s support site. Here’s how you can do that:

Go to the HP Customer Support – Software and Driver Downloads page.

Enter Officejet Pro 8500 A909a in the search bar.

Select your operating system (Windows 11 in your case).

Download the Full Feature Software and Driver package (if available) or the Basic Driver package.

Install the downloaded file by right-clicking the installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

If Windows 11 does not show a dedicated driver for your model, you can instead use the Windows Update or the built-in HP Universal Print Driver, which is often fully compatible with older HP models.

That should let you reinstall the software and restore proper functionality without needing the CD.

Hi

Thanks for this but still does not work. Nearest availble is software for HP8500 a910e.

My printer is already connected via usb.When we run intall from downloaded;

it comes to a stop @ "the connect printer via usb page"

Your HP detection did not detect my printer model cb022a. the S/n MY9C34316K .

HP auto detector found my printer last Friday pm but not today, Even then i could not download any software for it.

i have the cdr with software. Is there any way to read software from the cdr?

Far easier if you tell us where to get software Or how to access on cd using win11.

As you may know atending HP service centre in uk (approx 50miles away) incurs costs & time & even then any fixes will not be free & imm @ visit. 

HP is global business to make profits & we can all see push to dispose perfectly good reliable old printers towards modern "inksupply contract" machines.

My main printer is Epson & so far very good & no tricks.

I will gradually lose hp machines as they wear out & dispose.

You will lose business such as mine. i currently have 5x Hp printers +  1 epson+ 2 kyocera lasers
