Hi @Ramachandran3,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the HP LaserJet M1136 MFP printer is an older model, and HP may not have released updated drivers compatible with macOS 15.1 (Sonoma). However, there are a few steps you can take to resolve this issue:
1. Check Driver Compatibility
- Visit the HP Support page and look for macOS 15.1-compatible drivers for your printer.
- If no specific driver is listed for macOS 15.1, try downloading the latest available macOS driver (even for an earlier version) and see if it works.
2. Use AirPrint (if supported) Set up the HP printer with AirPrint in macOS
- Some older HP printers support AirPrint, Apple's built-in printing solution, which doesn't require additional drivers.
- Connect the printer to your Mac using USB or WiFi and check if it appears automatically in System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
3. Install HP Easy Start HP Easy Start
HP Easy Start Software and Driver Downloads
- Download and install HP Easy Start, a utility that helps identify and install the correct driver for your printer.
- Link: HP Easy Start for macOS.
4. Reset Printing System
- Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Right-click (or Control-click) anywhere in the printer list and select Reset printing system.
- Add your printer again and see if macOS can find compatible software automatically.
5. Update macOS
- Ensure your macOS is fully updated. Sometimes compatibility fixes are included in system updates.

I hope this helps.
