Hp "Smart/Stupid" application all of a sudden gives this message when I try to print "hp printer not compatible with hp smart app".  Was working before.  Found support article that said update windows, update device driver reinstall from Microsoft Store.  None of this worked.  I have HP Officejet 6500A Plus.  Does HP no longer support this device in the application what is work around?  Hope is not throw a working printer into a landfill.....

I see that you are getting error message "HP printer not compatible with HP smart app" on your HP Officejet 6500A Plus printer.

Please follow the steps listed below to install the firmware update from HP smart App.

2. After completing the printer setup, click or tap your printer name.
NOTE: Menu names, locations, and available settings vary by printer model.
3. Under Advanced, select Printer Home Page (EWS) or Advanced Settings.
4. Click or tap Tools or Web Services.
5. Click or tap Printer Updates or Product Update, and then click or tap Check Now.
