hp psc 2210 all in one issues. dug it out to scan something on my laptop & while cleaning off 2" of dust, I opened it (never did that before, no reason to) & now I can't close it. I know it's a very old relic but it should work great for what I need. I have a new HP that is acting stupid & don't have the patience to deal with him at the moment. any help is appreciated!

@meanbuji, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Issues with HP PSC 2210 All-in-One Printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It seems like you're encountering difficulties closing the HP PSC 2210 All-in-One printer after cleaning it. Here are some steps you can follow to resolve the issue:

Verify That Everything is Aligned Properly

Check for Obstructions: Make sure that there are no obstructions preventing the scanner lid from closing. Remove any objects or debris that might be in the way.

Align the Hinges: Ensure the hinges are aligned properly. Misalignment can prevent the lid from closing securely.

Review Internal Components

Inspect Internal Mechanisms: Sometimes internal mechanisms may shift during cleaning. Check to make sure that everything inside the printer is in its proper place and aligned correctly.

Reposition the Paper Tray: Ensure that the paper tray is correctly positioned and not interfering with the closure.

Consult the User Manual

  1. Check the User Guide: Consult the user manual for instructions on opening and closing the scanner lid. There might be specific steps or positions that need to be followed for proper closure.

Reboot and Retry

  1. Power Cycle: Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Leave it off for a few minutes and then plug it back in. Try closing the lid again after rebooting the printer.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
