Welcome to the HP Community --

The printer PIN is required to open HP Smart > Printer Settings > Advanced

"Advanced" is essentially the same thing as opening the Embedded Web Server (EWS) using your browser.

If HP Smart won't let you open "Advanced" from within the application, use your Browser.

If you cannot bypass the Browser's security to open the IP address of your printer (to open EWS), use a different browser.

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

When using a supported Browser, you might be able to open the "home" page of EWS without having to enter the PIN.

Most other sections require the printer PIN as extra security.

Reminder:  If asked enter the printer’s PIN number – the default number is generally located on the back or perhaps inside the carriage access area.
