Hi @Tomas1234567,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Recovering Username for HP Tango X After Setting a Password!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Default Username:

  • Try using default usernames such as "admin" or leave the username field blank. Many devices do not require a specific username when a password is the only configured credential.

Check Related Documentation:

  • Review any documentation or notes you might have made during the initial setup. Sometimes, the username might have been noted down somewhere.

HP Smart App:

  • If you used the HP Smart app to set up your printer, check if there are any settings or account details saved in the app that might give you a clue about the username.

Printer's Control Panel:

  • If accessible, you can explore the printer settings via the control panel to check any saved credentials.

Reset the Printer:

  • If you're unable to retrieve the username through the above steps, you might need to perform a factory reset on the printer. Note that this will remove any custom settings, including the password:
    • Turn off the printer.
    • Unplug it from the power source.
    • Hold the power button for 15 seconds.
    • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

I hope this helps.
