My printer stopped talking to Instant Ink last May. Numerous attempts have been mad to correct this including tech support from Apple, HP Instant Ink and Xfinity Internet and doing screen shares, etc. A rep from Xfinity even came to my house and had it working briefly but after a few print jobs it quit again with the same alert "connection problem" . Trying to download the hp app receives a message from my computer gives mw th message "unable to download" It is now September and I have been paying for Instant Ink subscription for 4 months without service.

Hi @LoriM-2944,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I can completely understand your frustration with paying for HP Instant Ink for months without being able to use your HP ENVY Inspire 7955e printer is incredibly disappointing, especially after so many support attempts. Let’s get you back on track with a clear action plan.
1. Reset Printer’s Web Services
This clears expired credentials and forces a fresh sync with HP:
- On the printer’s touchscreen, go to Settings > Web Services > Remove Web Services.
- Restart the printer.
- Go back to Settings > Web Services > Enable Web Services.
- Print the info sheet and ensure the printer gets a new ePrint email address.
2. Reconnect to HP Smart
If HP Smart won’t download on macOS 15:
- Try downloading it from the HP Smart instead of the App Store.
- Or use the HP Easy Start tool from the HP ENVY Inspire 7955e All-in-One Printer | HP® Support
3. Reconnect to Instant Ink
- Visit your HP Instant Ink Service | HP® Support
- Make sure your printer is listed and shows as connected.
- If not, click Add Printer and follow the steps.
4. Update macOS Permissions
- Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Files and Folders.
- Make sure HP Smart (if installed) has access to your network and files.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
