Hi
I have a hp printer and tried to install the last version of the hplib by running the hplip-3.18.12.run shell.
It took something like 1hour to run and found it rather complex with numerous install and ending up with a failure with this message :
configure: error: cannot find net-snmp support (or --disable-network-build)
What I find rather strange is how complex is the install process, taking a lot of time, and checking for unexpected libraries such as:
checking for CRYPTO_free in -lcrypto... no
And of course the install has succesfully uninstalled the previous hplip setup that if I remember well not a problem at all . Quite disappointed in fact.
PS ... and please accept my apologies for being a little bit rude here, but I think that someone here just thought a little bit too much building a printer driver.
