i want to change printer but need a new one that will take my printer cartridges

From its specs, it uses HP 901 and 901XL ink cartridges. You can look at the box of a cartridge to see a compatible list of printers OR use a list on the following link

I think no new generation printers use those cartridges.

SORRY THEY TAKE 301 CARTRIDGES

Ink cartridges are designed so they only work in the printer or printer series they were originally sold for. No newer series printer will use an older series ink cartridge. Your best bet is to continue using your current printer until it fails or uses up the ink cartridges you have. Then buy a new printer. I have had very good luck with Brother and Canon myself. If your current printer has died or whatever, your best bet is to sell the remaining unopened ink cartridge packages on eBay then buy a new printer (do your homework and read comparisons). Keep in mind that all printer companies sell their low-end printers cheap and plan to make their money selling you ink cartridges. This is just a fact of life. HP is kind of famous for introducing this business model: low-balling the printer, charging through the nose for ink and then discontinuing the printer so you have to buy another. It's business model that works very well for them. C'est la vie.
