@Hectorthedog, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

The HP Photosmart C4280 drivers may not be readily available on the official HP site if the model is considered outdated. However, there are alternative steps you can take to obtain the necessary drivers:

Use Windows Update: Sometimes, Windows can automatically find and install the appropriate driver for your printer. Connect your printer to the computer and check for driver updates through Windows Update.

Install through Device Manager:

  • Connect your printer to the computer.
  • Open Device Manager (you can search for it in the Windows search box).
  • Find your printer in the list. It may appear under “Other devices” if the driver is not installed.
  • Right-click and choose “Update driver.”
  • Select “Search automatically for updated driver software.”

Use HP Smart App for Setup and Driver Installation

The HP Smart App can help you manage your HP printer, even for older models like the Photosmart C4280, by automatically finding the right drivers for your system.

Use Windows Built-in Printer Driver

If you're on Windows, try using the built-in driver for similar printers:

Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Add a Printer.

Choose "Add a local printer".

Select HP Photosmart or HP Photosmart C4200 series from the list of available printers.

Follow the prompts to install the printer without needing a specific driver from the official site.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
