Zoey, I followed the help support steps/prompts before your message, and mirrored the same steps as per your reply, and when I download an .exe file with the excitement of the driver being installed, I get a advice that the download failed. I've attempted this several times, each time rebooting.

Anyways, given the time involved vs the cost of a printer, I will have to buy a new printer. Don't understand why windows 11 on a new surface laptop can not facilitate access to a HP printer driver which is relatively new. Oh well.

Hi @MABToronto

I am sorry that it didn't help, let's try out a few more steps!

Check User Privileges:

  • Make sure you have administrative privileges on your computer. Services like Plug-N-Play require administrative access, so confirm your account permissions.

Verify File Integrity:

  • Ensure the file is downloaded completely and wasn't interrupted. Often, drivers can fail if there is a corrupted file. Try downloading from the Official HP Support site.

Run as Administrator:

  • Right-click on the .exe file and choose "Run as Administrator." This may help bypass permission-related issues.

Check System Services:

  • Make sure that other essential services are running on your system. You can type services.msc in the Run dialog to open the Services management console and check the status of the Plug-N-Play service.

Let me know how this goes!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
