Hi @MMahmoud,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how confusing this message can be, especially given that the printer was purchased in Germany and is now being used in Egypt. I’ll clarify what this means and what you can do next.

What the “Setup Incomplete” message means

The message shown on the Embedded Web Server (EWS) for your HP LaserJet Pro 3002dw indicates that the printer has not yet completed its initial activation/setup. Until this activation is completed:

  • The Embedded Web Server is limited
  • Some features (especially HP Cloud / web-connected services) remain unavailable

This is expected behavior and does not mean the printer is faulty.

Why is activation required?

Newer HP LaserJet models require initial activation using HP Smart:

  • This step finalizes printer setup
  • It enables full access to the EWS
  • It activates firmware features and security services

What you need to do

Please follow these steps carefully:

  1. On a computer or mobile device connected to the same network as the printer, open a browser.
  2. Go to: HP Smart
  3. Install and open the HP app.
  4. Sign in with an HP account (or create one if needed).
  5. Add the printer and complete the on-screen setup steps.

Once this is completed, the “Setup Incomplete” message should disappear, and full EWS access will be restored.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
