@kerr95, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
That sounds frustrating! Let's try to troubleshoot this together. Here are a few steps you can follow to resolve the issue:

Check Cartridge Compatibility: Ensure that the new cartridge is compatible with your specific HP printer model.

Reinstall the Cartridge: Sometimes, the cartridge might not be seated properly. Remove the cartridge and reinstall it, making sure it clicks into place.

Clean the Contacts: Ink cartridges and printers have electrical contacts that can get dirty. Use a lint-free cloth to gently clean the contacts on both the cartridge and the printer.

Reset the Printer: Turn off your printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about a minute, and then plug it back in and turn it on.

Update Printer Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model on the HP website. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve such issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
