Hi @Batamy-25,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you’re unable to install your HP DeskJet 2330 printer because the printer’s serial number shows as expired. Let’s go through a few points and steps regarding this issue.

a. Check Printer Eligibility

HP printers with an expired or invalid serial number are usually considered out of warranty or unsupported by HP software.

Some older printers may no longer receive driver updates, which can prevent installation on newer operating systems.

b. Use Basic Drivers

Even if HP’s full software cannot install, Windows often allows installation via basic drivers:

Go to Settings → Devices → Printers & Scanners → Add a printer.

Choose The printer that I want isn’t listed.

Select Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings.

Choose HP and then HP DeskJet 2330 (or closest model).

Complete installation using default settings.

c. Use HP Universal Print Driver (UPD)

Download the HP Universal Print Driver for Windows from HP Support.

The UPD works with many older printers, even if the serial number shows as expired.

Install the driver and then add your DeskJet 2330 manually.

d. Connect via USB or Wi-Fi

If using USB, ensure it’s plugged directly into the PC (avoid hubs).

If using Wi-Fi, connect the printer to the same network and use Add Printer → Network Printer.

I hope this helps.
