HP Laser Color Jet CP1215
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi all, I would like to submit the following installation problem of my HP Laser Color Jet CP1215.
I have made two types of approaches.

1) I used the installation CD but when I get to the USB connection phase my progress window stops and does not go further. I consulted the virtual assistant by carrying out the procedure indicated to me, I uninstalled the driver and software package, then I ran the command netsh winsock reset through the prompt panel and I restarted my pc. Then I reinstalled the package from cd again without success with the same answer as before;
2) I performed the previous procedure, but this time I installed the updated Windows 10 driver package downloaded from the HP site but at the time of connecting the USB the same result.

Do you have any solution to suggest me?
Thank you
Mariano

Hi @matusalemme,

I'd like to help!

Try the below suggestions-

 Let's try and uninstall the printer software from the root level on your PC and install the full feature printer software.

--->In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.

--->Select your HP printer.

--->Select Uninstall.

--->In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.

--->In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”

--->Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.

--->Type printui.exe /s and click OK.

--->Click on the Drivers tab.

--->Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click remove at the bottom.

--->Select OK.

--->Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.

--->Close Devices and Printers.

And then reinstall the printer full-featured drivers from the software and drivers page

Prepare for the printer setup

  1. Confirm the following requirements and items before you begin:

    • The printer is turned on and in a ready state.

    • Obtain a USB cable less than 3 m (9 ft 10 in) in length.

    • There is an available USB port on your computer: If you connect through a USB hub or docking station, the printer might not receive enough power to properly operate.

    • If you connected the USB cable to the computer before installing the HP driver, continue with these steps to remove the printer from the installed devices to help ensure a successful setup. Otherwise, skip to the next step to install the driver.

  2. Disconnect the printer USB cable from the computer. Do not reconnect the cable until prompted during the driver installation step

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
