color laserjet mfp m281
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

printer was functioning with out issue, until I installed the update that was sent.  will no longer print, receive 79 service error.  I have repeatedly tried the suggested steps for this error and nothing works.  How do I revert back to previous version?  it was working fine on

Yeah, its a thing now.
You should be able to downgrade your printers firmware

First in the printer :

1. Settings -> Service -> Laserjet Update -> Manage Updates -> Allow Downgrade -> YES
2. Settings -> Service -> Laserjet Update -> Manage Updates -> Check Automatically -> OFF

On the PC:
3. downlolad 20200612 update
4. Open the update, choose your printer and update the printer
5. Check after updating if the settings in point 1. and 2. are left as you set them.

Just a electronics enthusiast trying to fix everything.

THIS BELOW APPEARS TO BE THE CORRECT SOLUTION:

Below are the steps that you need to follow in the order as mentioned ...

Disconnect the printer from the NETWORK
If on wired network : Unplug the Ethernet cable from back of the printer.
If on wireless network : Power of the Wireless router. Turn off the printer.

Wait for 30 seconds. Turn on the printer.

If the printer is in READY state, on the printer front panel, go to Setup -> Network Setup -> Network Services -> IPv6 -> Off. Turn off the printer. Wait for 30 seconds and then turn on.

Try printing , it should work.
