installing older HP printer without fax

I have not been able to install HP Office Jet 7310 without Faxing capability in Windows 11.  Anyone manged this easily?

To install the older HP OfficeJet 7310 without enabling the fax features in Windows 11, you need to bypass the HP app and use Windows 11’s built-in print drivers instead. 

Ensure the printer is powered on and connected directly to your computer via USB.

Disconnect any active phone lines from the printer's fax port so Windows does not attempt to configure the fax modem. 

Use Windows' "Add a Device" Wizard

• Open Windows Settings (Win + I) and select Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
• Click the Add device button.
• Wait for Windows to search. When it fails to find the older model, click The printer that I want isn't listed.
• Choose Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings and click Next.
• Select the port the printer is connected to and click Next. 

Select the Basic Driver

• In the Install the printer driver window, click the Windows Update button, this will take a minute or two to update the list of legacy devices.
• Once the update is complete, select HP under Manufacturer.
• Scroll through the Printers list and look for the HP OfficeJet 7300 series
• Select it and click Next.
• Follow the remaining prompts to name your printer.
