Short Answer

  No

Longer Answer

There are a lot of factors that govern software installation.

A few examples...

Much depends on the printer, of course, and whether there is Full Feature Software available for it.

You need an account that provides Administrative privileges.

Your computer software must allow the installation.

If your UAC setting is too high, the software may not install in spite of using an Admin account.

If you have not done so previously,

Make sure that you disconnect the USB cable between the printer and the computer BEFORE you install the printer software.  Connect the cable when instructed to do so (latter part of the installation process).

Less likely, though possible:  The USB cable might need to be replaced.

Thank you for your message. Can you tell me whether it is possible to install 800 G1 more printers on a hp elitedesk. Or is there a restriction? For this I had no problems with the same configuration on another PC.

You have never mentioned the model of printer you are trying to install.

There is no doubt a restriction; if  nothing else, the Specifications of the particular computer may -- or may not -- support a particular software.  Certainly a standard desktop running a supported Operating System / version would likely support software for three printers.

Just as important, the printer must provide printer software for the Operating System version installed on the computer.  To find out whether this is the case, find and open the Software and Drivers Website Support page for the printer(s) > find, download-save,install the necessary Full Feature Software for the printer.  After the printer software is installed, Restart the computer and log in.

At the very least, the Windows Operating System must be able to support the basic printer drivers for the printer(s).  Even without specific driver support for the printer, Windows must be able to interact with the printer hardware to provide basic print function.

Withouut knowing what you are doing, what you are installing (or attempting to install), and under what circumstances (supported or not), I cannot offer anything further on the subject.

Ah, the "other guys" printers.  OK.

In general, printers are printers - that is, printers that provide printer software (software to interact with both the printer and the user of that printer) can fail to install for several reasons.

One reason:

  1. If the initial (first time) installation fails,
  2. If you remove the printer (uninstall the software from Programs and Features),
  3. After you Restart the computer,
  4. It may be necessary to double check and make sure the "uninstalled" printer is actually "gone" before trying to (re)install a fresh copy of the printer software.

All printer makers use their own software - IF your OKI printers are using similar parts of the Operating System / File System for their software, then the following might be worth checking.

Printer Software – Uninstall Existing Software

Uninstall existing printer software from Programs and Features.

Method One - Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features >

Method Two - Settings > Apps > Apps and Features >

Search or Scroll down

Uninstall the printer software

After the software is removed, Restart the computer and log in

If printer software will not uninstall, appears to be removed and then shows up again, or is otherwise not “going away” when you tell it to do so, try an Uninstaller program.

Microsoft:  Fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed

** Printer Software – Lurking in the Device Manager **

Check / Verify:  If the printer is still lurking in the Device Manager, remove it.

Control Panel > icon view > Device Manager

Expand category Printers

If any unwanted printer name or “Unknown Device” is listed,

Right-Click on the printer / device > Uninstall

Expand category Imaging Devices

If any unwanted printer name or “Unknown Device” is listed,

Right-Click on the printer / device > Uninstall

Restart the computer and log in

** Printer Drivers – Lurking in Devices and Printers **

Check / Verify:  If the printer drivers are still lurking in Devices and Printers, remove driver(s) related to the printer.

Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers

Left-Click on any unwanted Printer found in the Printers list

Clicking on a printer, displays options along the ribbon (near the top of the Devices and Printers window)

Click Print Server Properties > tab Drivers

Click on Driver(s) in list, select Remove > OK to exit menu

Back in Devices and Printers > Right-Click on the printer > Remove Device

Restart the computer and log in

** Printer Software – Lurking in the User Account **

Check / Verify:  Printer related files and folders are stored in the User AppData hierarchy.  If you have had trouble getting the printer to work, complete this step to delete files from the Temp folder.

Method One - Open File Explorer > Navigate to C:\Users\YourAccount\AppData\Local\Temp

OR Method Two Windows key + X + R (Run command) > type %temp%

Delete the files in the Temp folder (It is expected that some files cannot be deleted, ignore these)

Restart the computer and log in

Try installing the printer software.

After the software installs, Restart the computer and log in.

Good Luck.
