HP Photosmart 7525
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I receievd a message advising em to update my printer driver for my HP Photosmart 7525 multi function printer. I downloaded PS-7520_R1830A update file and proceeded to install teh update. In th emiddle of teh process which seemed to be working fine, it stopped. I closed the process andnoticed that my printer power was off. I tried to restart the printer using the power button and It will not start.

What happened and how can I get my printer back?  HELP!!

@akwoman86,

Good Day.  Thank you for taking an interest in the HP community. I will be glad to assist you and let’s get right to it. Superb diagnosis of the issue. It is amply appreciated.

  • Does the printer power on now?

I will be providing a roadmap with some troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue. Let us try these steps:

if the printer powers on, then will send you a private message to perform a semi full reset on the printer to take it back to factory settings.Check your forum private message box for instructions in the upper right corner.

If the printer does not powers on, then I will send you a private message to assist you with the next course of action. Check your forum private message box for instructions in the upper right corner.

  • after the semi full reset, update the printer’s firmware by following instructions from this link: https://support.hp.com/bg-en/document/c02919168
  • Use a USB cable to update the printer’s firmware.
  • Now check if the issue gets fixed..

Good luck and keep me posted about the developments. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution as it will help several others with the same issue and give the post a Kudos for my efforts to help. Thank you and have a great week ahead. 🙂
