When setting up the printer on PC, we run the .exe file. All works until entering the PIN located inside the cover of the printer. We enter the PIN as shown on the cover of the printer, then we get invalid code error message. How can we proceed with the set up? This is on a Win7 OS.

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

The HP+ printer MUST be setup and onboarded using HP Smart app.  It's only then you will be able to Activate HP+ to enjoy the benefits and also to Enroll HP Instant Ink.  HP Smart app is available on Win 10 computers. (not Win 7)

Can you try to use HP Smart on the mobile phone to try to setup?

Once the printer is setup and connected to the network, you can then use the HP FULL software on the Win 7 (but printer must be connected wirelessly) since it needs to validate that the number of pages printed.

Hope that helps!
