Hi @sp6111,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
I see that you are looking for help with using your Printer on a chromebook.
HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 should be compatible with your Lenovo Chromebook. Chromebooks typically support printing via Google Cloud Print, but since Google Cloud Print was deprecated in December 2020, you'll need to use a different method.
Here are some options to connect your printer to your Chromebook:
HP Smart App: Install the HP Smart app from the Chrome Web Store or Google Play Store. This app will help you set up your printer and manage print jobs from your Chromebook.
Direct Wi-Fi Printing: If your HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromebook, you should be able to print directly to it. Ensure that your printer is set up on your network and then try to print from your Chromebook.
Google Cloud Print Alternatives: You might need to use alternative cloud printing services or applications compatible with your printer and Chromebook.
USB Connection: Although Chromebooks are not typically equipped with a USB-A port for direct printing, you might need to use an adapter or a different method if USB printing is necessary.
