Hello. My printer uses colour to make black only from software even if I choose not to use colour.

As you know mixing right amounts of 3 prime colors will give us at least 16 million colors from black to white and YES, normal printers will do that way: mixxing colors to make B&W printouts UNLESS we tell it to use Black Ink Only.

 

The setup may vary from printer to printer but basically (for Windows):

(a) Double click printer icon on desktop,
(b) Click Set Preferences,
(c) Click Advanced,
(d) Select "Black Ink only" for Print in Grayscale
(e) Click Ok/Apply ...

Note: Printer still needs all color inks and it will consume a very small amount of inks during the warming up process.

Thank you for the answer but it wasn't the solution. I told I chose not to use color but the printer uses it anyway.

Yeah! That was the solution. Evidently the printer doesn't make black with black if the color cartridge lacks of some color. That should be corrected.
