Hi @docnistamel,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

You can absolutely install and use your HP Envy 6120e printer without Wi-Fi on a Windows 8.1 PC by connecting it via USB cable. Here’s the method:

Steps to Install HP Envy 6120e Without Wi-Fi (USB Connection)

1. Prepare the Printer

  • Plug in and power on the printer.
  • Make sure it’s in Ready mode.

2. Connect via USB

  • Use a USB Type-A to Type-B cable (standard printer cable).
  • Plug one end into the printer and the other into your PC.

3. Download the HP App or Full Driver

4. Install the Driver

  • Run the downloaded installer.
  • When prompted for connection type, select USB.
  • Complete the setup and print a test page.

Alternative: Use Windows Built-in Driver

If you don’t want the HP app:

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Add a Printer.
  • Select Add a local printer.
  • Choose the correct port (usually USB001).

Pick the HP Envy series from the list or click Windows Update to refresh drivers.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
