I am trying to connect to my printer using WIFI direct, now the printer is available when you open your wifi and when i enter the password it says it is wrong? I am using the same password provided on the HP Smart app when you click on the network information tab, am i doing something wrong?

When connecting to your HP Laser 107w printer using Wi-Fi Direct,
here are a few steps to ensure you are following the correct procedure:
Confirm Wi-Fi Direct is Enabled:
- Ensure that Wi-Fi Direct is enabled on your HP Laser 107w printer. This can usually be done through the printer's control panel or the HP Smart app.
Find the Correct Password:
- The password for Wi-Fi Direct is usually different from your regular Wi-Fi network password. It is typically provided by the printer itself.
- In the HP Smart app, navigate to the network information tab and confirm the Wi-Fi Direct password. Ensure you are not confusing it with the regular Wi-Fi network password.
Connect to the Printer’s Wi-Fi Direct:
- On your device (e.g., smartphone or computer), go to the Wi-Fi settings and look for a network name that includes the printer model (e.g., "DIRECT-xx-HP Laser 107w").
- Select this network and enter the Wi-Fi Direct password exactly as it appears.
Check for Typing Errors:
- Make sure there are no typing errors when entering the password. Pay attention to case sensitivity and any special characters.
Reset Wi-Fi Direct Settings (if needed):
- If you continue to experience issues, you can try resetting the Wi-Fi Direct settings on the printer. Refer to the printer's manual for instructions on how to reset these settings.
Firmware Updates:
- Ensure that your printer’s firmware is up to date. Sometimes, issues like this can be resolved by updating the firmware. You can check for updates using the HP Smart app or the HP website. Update the firmware on an HP printer
If the issue persists after following these steps, it might be helpful to reset the printer's network settings entirely and set up the Wi-Fi Direct connection from scratch. Here’s how you can reset the network settings:
Reset Network Settings:
- Turn off the printer.
- Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button at the same time.
- While holding the buttons, turn on the printer and continue to hold the buttons for 10 seconds.
- Release the buttons. The network settings should now be reset.
Reconnect:
- Follow the steps to enable Wi-Fi Direct again and reconnect using the HP Smart app.
