HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw

My printer HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw has to both provide address and authentication against ldap.

I managed to get the address book setup and I can query the Active Directory, no problem. However I am running into an issue with the access control (menu settings, security, access control, ldap) on the EWS, when I check the settings I get "Unable to connect to the network".

I did a packet capture of both settings and found what is the problem, however I do not have a support contract with HP, and therefore I cannot open a case.

The ldap query coming out of the address book uses TLS1.2. As per the screenshot below:

The ldap query coming out of the access control book uses TLS1.0. As per the screenshot below:

TLS1.0 and 1.1 were both deprecated in 2021, and my Active Directory will never revert to unsafe protocols. Another issue is HP is using two different code for the same functionality.

So would someone having access to HP open a case about this ?

Thank you,

Eric
