Hi papaslagg

If you upgraded to macOS Sequoia 15.5 and lost the HP Utility, follow these steps to regain scanning functionality with your HP printer:

Step 1: Download and Install HP Smart App

  1. Download the HP Smart App:

  2. Install HP Smart App:

    • Open the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the app on your Mac.

Step 2: Set Up Your HP Printer with HP Smart

  1. Open HP Smart App:

    • Launch the HP Smart app from your Applications folder.
  2. Add Your Printer:

    • Click the Add Printer button and follow the prompts to add your HP printer to the app. Ensure your printer is turned on and connected to the same network as your Mac.

Step 3: Perform a Scan

  1. Access Scan Function:

    • With your printer added to HP Smart, select the Scan function from the home screen of the app.
  2. Prepare Your Document:

    • Place the document or photo you want to scan on the scanner bed or feeder.
  3. Adjust Settings:

    • Configure scan settings such as resolution, color mode, and file format according to your needs.
  4. Start Scanning:

    • Click the Scan button to initiate the scan process.
  5. Save or Share:

    • Once the scan is complete, you can save the scanned file to your computer, or share it via email or other platforms directly from the HP Smart app.
