How do I restore to factory settings?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd love to help.

Restore the factory-set defaults

Restoring the factory-set defaults returns all of the printer and network settings to the factory defaults. It will not reset the page count and it also deletes any pages that are stored in the memory. 1. Open the HP Embedded Web Server (EWS).  2. On the System tab, click Service. 3. In the Restore Defaults area, click the Restore defaults button. The printer automatically restarts.

Open the Embedded Web Server (EWS)using an IP address (Wi-Fi connection)

Your printer must be connected to an IP-based network before you can access the Embedded Web Server. An administrator password for access to the Embedded Web Server can be assigned to prevent unauthorized users from changing the printer settings. Check with your administrator first to see if you have access.

1. Print a configuration page to determine the IP address or host name. a. If the printer is in Sleep mode (the Ready light is on but dim), press the Resume/Cancel button to wake up the printer. b. Press and hold the Resume/Cancel button on the control panel until the Ready light begins blinking, and then release the button.

2. Open a web browser, and in the address line, type the IP address or host name exactly as it displays on the configuration page. Press the Enter key on the computer keyboard. The Embedded Web Server opens.

NOTE: If the web browser displays a message indicating that accessing the website might not be safe, select the option to continue to the website. Accessing this website will not harm the computer.

Let me know if this helps.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Thanks!

Have a great day!
