HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf Multifunction Printer

Installing this printer on a fresh windows 10 home system.  Have had the install hang up for hours at " new device is now connected"  while installing with a USB cable.

Have tried unplugging the USB, restarting the printer, restarting the pc.  Also have tried installing by downloading drivers from HPO, by using windows update- plug and play, and also by original DVD disk.

I have also replaced the USB cable.  So now stumped.  anyone have any ideas now?
