HP ENVY Pro 6455 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP Envy Pro 6455 printer.  Model: 5SE45A.  I have Windows 10 and prefer not to upgrade to Win11.   I keep getting pop-up notifications on my laptop from HP that I need to install my printer.  The printer is It is 3 years old.  However, I have kept it up to date with software and drives and confirmed this prior to posting.   I check HP website that confirmed software and drivers are up to date. The printer and scanner have been working perfectly.  Can ask if anyone knows why I am getting this notification message and what I need to do?  Thank you very much.

I suspect the notification is to get you to install the May 29, 2024 firmware update.

Looking at the release notes I do not recommend updating, but it is up to you

Reminder: Dynamic security enabled printer. This Firmware includes dynamic security measures, which are used to block cartridges using a non-HP chip or modified or non-HP electronic circuitry. The printer is intended to work only with new or reused cartridges that have a new or reused HP chip or circuitry. Periodic firmware updates will maintain the effectiveness of the dynamic security measures and block cartridges that previously worked.

I think the HP support assistant is in charge of providing notifications

Your information is very useful and gives me info on what the HP pop-up notification is about which appears to be minor. The notices come about 5 or more times per day.  But it is very easy to click the closure "x" to close notification each time it appears  Thank you very much for responding.
