Dear HP Support Team,

I am writing to follow up on my previous support requests regarding the ongoing issue with installing the required driver for my Laser jet M1212nf MFP Despite multiple attempts to install the driver on my PC, I continue to encounter the same installation failure, preventing me from using the product to its full capacity.

The issue persists even after I have followed all troubleshooting steps, including [mention any specific steps you've taken, e.g., uninstalling previous drivers, running the HP support assistant, or updating the OS]. I have also made sure that my system meets the minimum requirements for the driver, and my internet connection is stable, ruling out any network-related issues.

You're doing everything right, and we’re here to help you resolve this.

Steps to Fix Driver Installation Failure on Windows 11

1. Use the Full Feature Software

Download directly from HP: 🔗 HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf Multifunction Printer series Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support

Make sure to:

  • Right-click the installer and choose Run as Administrator
  • Temporarily disable antivirus/firewall during installation


2. Manually Add the Printer via Windows Settings

If the installer fails, try adding the printer manually:

  1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners
  2. Click Add device
  3. If not detected, click Add manually
  4. Choose Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings
  5. Select USB port (e.g., USB001)
  6. Choose HP > HP LaserJet M1212nf MFP from the list


3. Clean Previous Installations

If you've tried installing before, remnants may cause conflicts:

  • Uninstall all HP software from Control Panel > Programs
  • Remove the printer from Devices and Printers
  • Delete leftover files from:  
  • C:\Program Files\HP
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\HP
  • C:\ProgramData\HP


4. Update Windows and USB Drivers

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update > Optional Updates
  • Install any updates related to drivers or USB controllers
