Hi @nothappy28
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your frustration! The "Driver Unavailable" error on your 2700 series printer can be tricky, but I’ll guide you through some steps to try and resolve it. Since you're using Windows 11 in S Mode, there are some limitations that might be affecting the installation process, but we'll work with that.
Step-by-Step Guide to Fix "Driver Unavailable" Issue
Check for Windows 11 Compatibility with S Mode:
- Windows 11 S Mode only allows you to install apps from the Microsoft Store, so you'll need to switch to regular Windows 11 (Home or Pro) to download drivers that are not available in the store.
- To exit S Mode (if you're comfortable doing so):
- Go to Settings > System > Activation.
- Under Switch to Windows 11 Home, select Go to the Store.
- In the Microsoft Store, you'll see an option to Switch out of S Mode. Follow the prompts to change to the full version of Windows 11. (Note: This process is permanent and can’t be reversed, so make sure you're okay with it.)
Download and Install the Correct Driver:
- Once you're in regular Windows 11 (or if you’re already out of S Mode), follow these steps:
- Go to the HP Support website: HP Driver Downloads.
- Enter your printer model (e.g., HP 2700 Series), and choose the appropriate driver for Windows 11.
- Download the driver and install it. Make sure to choose the full driver package for your printer (this should include both the printer driver and any software for the printer).
Check Printer Connection:
- Make sure your printer is properly connected to your computer (via USB, Wi-Fi, etc.). If it’s a wireless printer, ensure it’s connected to the same network as your PC.
- Try restarting both your printer and your computer after downloading and installing the drivers.
Update the Printer Driver (if you haven't switched out of S Mode):
- If you're still in S Mode and cannot switch to regular Windows 11, you may need to rely on drivers available in the Microsoft Store, but they may be limited. If you’re able to install the driver from the HP website on a different device, transfer it via a USB drive to your laptop and attempt installation that way.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
