My HP Envy 4500 printer doesn't connect to my HP 8 computer. I'm sure they are both on the same wireless internet, how can I be certain of the wireless compatability?

To ensure compatibility and proper connection between your HP ENVY 4500 printer and your Windows 8 computer, follow these steps to verify the wireless setup:

Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)

If you have a WPS-enabled router:

Push Button Method

1. Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until the wireless light starts blinking (approximately three seconds).
2. Press the WPS button on your router. The printer will establish a wireless connection within two minutes.

PIN Method

1. Press the Wireless button on the printer control panel to display the Wireless menu.
2. Select Settings from the printer display.
3. Select Wi-Fi Protected Setup.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions for either the PIN or Push Button method based on your router’s capabilities.

Traditional Wireless Connection (Requires Router)

1. Press the Wireless button on the printer control panel, then select Settings.
2. Scroll to select Wireless Setup Wizard, then press OK.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up the wireless connection.
4. Insert the printer software CD into your computer’s CD-ROM drive.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the printer software.

Connect a New Printer

If the printer is not already connected:

1. From the Start screen on your Windows 8 computer, right-click an empty area on the screen, click All Apps on the app bar, and then click HP ENVY 4500 series.
2. Select Printer Setup & Software.
3. Select Connect a new printer and follow the on-screen instructions.
