my HP ENVY Photo 7155 will light up with a loading bar and some dots below it. But it freezes with all of the dots empty except 1 and the bar full. I've followed the tips found in the community but these do not work. HP, please provide some additional instructions to resolve this issue.

Hi @Tina_K,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP ENVY Photo 7155 printer is freezing during startup with a loading bar and some dots below it, it’s often indicative of a firmware or hardware issue. Since the community tips haven’t resolved the problem, you can try the following steps for further troubleshooting:

1. Perform a Power Cycle:

  • Turn Off the Printer: Press the power button to turn off the printer. Unplug the power cord from both the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait: Leave the printer unplugged for at least 60 seconds. This helps to reset any temporary issues or errors.
  • Plug In and Power On: Reconnect the power cord and plug it back into the wall outlet. Turn the printer back on and see if it starts up correctly.

2. Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Update Firmware: Sometimes, outdated firmware can cause issues. Check the HP support website for any available firmware updates for your model. If possible, update the firmware using the HP Smart app or directly from the website.

3. Reset the Printer to Factory Settings:

  • Factory Reset: Performing a factory reset can sometimes resolve persistent issues. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Access Settings: On the printer's control panel, touch Setup (represented by a gear icon).
    2. Navigate to Printer Maintenance: Select Printer Maintenance or a similar option.
    3. Select Factory Reset: Look for the option to restore the factory settings and confirm your selection.
  • Note: A factory reset will restore the printer to its original settings and may require reconfiguration.

4. Check for Hardware Issues:

  • Paper Jams: Ensure there are no paper jams or obstructions in the paper path. Open all accessible panels and check for any stuck paper or foreign objects.
  • Cartridges: Ensure the ink cartridges are installed correctly and securely. Remove and reinsert them to make sure they are properly seated.

5. Clean the Printer:

  • Dust and Debris: Dust and debris can sometimes cause operational issues. Gently clean the interior of the printer, including the paper feed rollers, using a soft, dry cloth.

6. Check for Connectivity Issues:

  • Network Connection: If your printer is connected to a network, ensure it has a stable connection. You can try reconnecting it to your network or resetting the network settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
