I understand you are facing an issue with your HP LaserJet Pro MFP 3302fdw is stuck in "pause" mode on your Mac running macOS Sonoma 14.5. Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

  • Open System Settings on your Mac.
  • Go to Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your HP LaserJet Pro MFP 3302fdw from the list of printers.
  • Click on Open Print Queue.
  • If the printer is paused, you should see a "Resume" button. Click Resume to continue printing.

2. Reset Printing System

If resuming printing doesn't work, try resetting the printing system:

  • Open System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  • Right-click or control-click in the printer list and select Reset printing system.
  • This will remove all printers, so you will need to re-add the printer.
  • Once reset, click the + button to re-add the HP LaserJet Pro MFP 3302fdw.

3. Check Printer Connection

  • Ensure the printer is connected correctly, either via WiFi or USB.
  • If you're using WiFi, make sure the printer and the Mac are connected to the same network.

4. Update Printer Firmware and Drivers Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Visit the HP support website and download the latest drivers and firmware for the HP LaserJet Pro MFP 3302fdw compatible with macOS Sonoma 14.5.
  • Install any updates to ensure compatibility with your OS.

5. Restart Printer and Mac

  • Restart both your Mac and the printer. This can sometimes clear temporary issues.

6. Check for macOS Compatibility Issues

  • macOS Sonoma is a new version, and there might be compatibility issues. Check if there are any known issues between your printer and macOS Sonoma.

7. Try Printing from Another App

  • If the printer is still paused, try printing from another application to see if the issue is app-specific.
