My HP laptop does not have the right drivers to work with my HP printer. I was wondering if I could print using my iPhone. I was also wondering if there’s anyway to connect my laptop directly to the printer without Wi-Fi? I am so confused also, there is a orange blinking light that continuously blinks right alongside the blue blinking light which is the Wi-Fi the orange light blinks there’s a circle and it looks like there’s a (I)in the middle. Can someone please help with any information I would deeply appreciate it. Thank you.

Hi @Shawn119
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Absolutely, I can help with that! Let’s tackle your questions one by one.
Printing from Your iPhone
You can print from your iPhone to the HP DeskJet 4100e if the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Here’s how:
Ensure the Printer is Connected to Wi-Fi: Make sure your printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network. You can usually do this through the printer’s control panel by selecting your Wi-Fi network and entering the password.
Download the HP Smart App: Install the HP Smart app from the App Store. This app allows you to manage your printer from your iPhone.
Connect the App to Your Printer: Open the HP Smart app and follow the prompts to add your printer.
Print from Your iPhone: Once your printer is set up in the app, you can print documents or photos directly from your iPhone.
Connecting Your Laptop Directly to the Printer
If you want to connect your laptop to the printer without Wi-Fi, you can use a USB cable:
Use a USB Cable: Check if your printer has a USB port. You can connect your laptop to the printer using a USB cable.
Install Drivers: After connecting the printer via USB, you may still need to install drivers. You can download the necessary drivers from the HP Support website.
Addressing the Blinking Lights
The orange blinking light alongside the blue Wi-Fi light usually indicates a problem. Here’s what the lights typically mean:
- Orange Light: Often indicates a problem with the printer (like low ink, paper jam, or connection issues).
- Blue Light: Indicates that the printer is trying to connect to Wi-Fi.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
