@ismail1123, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

For connecting your MacBook Air to an HP DeskJet 2331 printer, here are some steps and considerations that may help resolve USB connection issues:

Check Physical Connections: Ensure that the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and the MacBook. Additionally, try using a different USB cable or USB port.

Restart Devices: Power off both the printer and MacBook, then turn them back on to reset their connections.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Visit the HP Support Page and search for drivers for the HP DeskJet 2331 to ensure you have the latest software installed.
  • Apple often provides printer drivers via Software Update, so check for any macOS updates or printer drivers in System Preferences under "Software Update."

Check Printer and Scanner Preferences:

  • Go to "System Preferences" > "Printers & Scanners" on your Mac.
  • Ensure the printer is listed. If not, click the "+" button to add it.
  • Select your printer from the list and follow on-screen instructions to finish the setup.

Reset Printing System:

  • In "Printers & Scanners," right-click on the printer list and select "Reset printing system."
  • This will remove all current printers from your system and let you re-add them.

Check USB Connectivity Settings:

  • Ensure the USB port on the MacBook Air is functioning by connecting another USB device to verify.

Mac Security & Privacy Settings:

  • macOS might block some older printer drivers for security reasons. Make sure the system preferences allow apps downloaded from identified developers.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
