Welcome to the HP Community --

There is no way to know what this means from the outside looking in.

There are lots of configurations, Operating System / versions, apps and software.

Scanning and Printing are generally governed by different rules and defaults.

MacOS is radically different from Windows.

Remote printing and Mobile printing are different from everything else.

Take a look at what you doing,

For example, Check list includes:

  • Note the Operating System / version,
  • The basic operation makes a difference:  Print or Scan
  • Check whether (at least for Windows) you have the full driver printer software installed,
  • Check whether the app or software you are using accepts the concept of Presets or Shortcuts,
  • Check whether the software you are using one set of settings and the Properties / Shortcuts / Preferences are set to something different.

Not sure what kind of example to include without a bit more context.

I might have an example for Windows apps / software or iOS / iPadOS - Print or Scan

MacOS -- Not-so-much
