Hi @julie963,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010e All-In-One Printer displays a "missing printhead or not detected" error, despite reseating the printhead and cleaning the connectors, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Clean the Printhead Contacts:

  • Turn off the printer and open the printhead access area.
  • Remove the printhead again.
  • Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to clean the electrical contacts on the printhead and inside the printer where the printhead connects.
  • Allow the contacts to dry completely before reinserting the printhead.

Check for Firmware Updates: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, a firmware update can resolve hardware recognition issues.
  • You can check for updates through the printer's control panel or HP's website.

Inspect the Printhead and Cartridges:

  • Examine the printhead and cartridges for any visible damage or leaks.
  • Ensure the cartridges are properly installed and seated.

Perform a Printhead Reset:

  • Remove all ink cartridges.
  • Remove the printhead.
  • Unplug the printer while it's on.
  • Wait for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Reinstall the printhead and then the ink cartridges.

Try Another Set of Cartridges:

  • If you have spare cartridges, try using a different set to rule out any issues with the current cartridges.

Factory Reset:

  • Perform a factory reset on the printer. This can often resolve software-related issues.
  • You can usually find this option in the printer's settings menu.

I hope this helps.
