@Wolf1065, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP printer is stuck in the setup process. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue:

Restart the Printer and Computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve setup issues. Turn off both your printer and computer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn them back on.

Check Connections: Ensure that all cables (USB or power) are securely connected. If you're using a wireless connection, make sure your printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor: This is a free tool provided by HP to diagnose and fix printing and scanning problems. You can download it from the HP Support website.

Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Update Drivers: Go to the HP Support website, enter your printer model, and download the latest drivers for your operating system.
  • Reinstall Drivers: Uninstall the current printer software from your computer (Control Panel > Programs and Features), then reinstall the latest drivers from the HP website.

Check for Windows Updates: Ensure your operating system is up to date. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and check for updates.

Use the HP Smart App: If you haven't already, try using the HP Smart app to complete the setup. It's available for both Windows and mobile devices.
