I cannot open my HP Smart App.  I have deleted it and reinstalled it to no avail.  It seems to be corrupted.

Hi @tomtan,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the HP Smart App won’t open even after reinstalling, here are some steps you can try to fix this issue.

Check for Updates:

  • Ensure your operating system and the HP Smart App are up to date. Sometimes, compatibility issues with newer OS versions can cause the app to malfunction.

Run a Clean Boot:

  • On Windows, perform a clean boot to disable background programs that might conflict with the HP Smart App.
    • Press Windows + R, type msconfig, and press Enter.
    • Go to the Services tab, check Hide all Microsoft services, then click Disable all.
    • Go to the Startup tab, click Open Task Manager, and disable all startup items.
    • Restart your computer, then try opening the HP Smart App.

Clear Cache and App Data (Windows 10/11 or macOS):

  • For Windows: Go to Settings > Apps > HP Smart > Advanced options, and select Reset or Repair.
  • For macOS, delete the app, then go to Finder > Go > Go to Folder and enter ~/Library/Application Support/HP Smart and delete the HP Smart folder. Reinstall the app afterward.

Reinstall HP Smart with Administrator Privileges:

  • Uninstall the HP Smart App again. Download the latest version directly from the Microsoft Store (Windows) or the App Store (macOS).
  • Right-click the installer (on Windows) and select Run as Administrator.

Check Firewall and Antivirus:

  • Make sure that your firewall or antivirus software is not blocking the HP Smart App. You might need to add HP Smart as an exception.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I did everything I could, googled for days and days.  I cannot print nothing.  It's always offline even I'm using this printer and my same laptop since a long time.  Even if I plug a USB cord to the printer, I cannot print.

I uninstalled HP Smart and reinstalled over and over and I cannot open HP Smart to get help.

All help I tried from hp support doesn't work and I'm not the best to understand the internet world.  Explanation I found are for technicians and not for ordinary people.

We started going at the library to print our stuff and I regret I just ordered more ink from HP and I won't be able to use it.  I'm giving up.  We had enough.
