HP Deskjet F380 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

My wife took the HP MFP M283fdw color LaserJet printer from me for her work-at-home use, so for me to have a scanner now, I have an old HP F380 all-in-one printer scanner copier. I used it successfully for many years with my Windows 10 PC before getting the M283fdw printer. I only want to use it as a  scanner, but I can't download ANY drivers for it. My new computer is a Windows 11 that does not have an optic drive, otherwise I would insert the CD that came with the printer and see if the drivers could be installed.

I have tried everything to install the drivers; HP scan doctor, searching online including this community, installing the disc in my former computer and then transferring the files to an external hard drive and trying to install them on my new PC. I also tried searching for drivers on hp.com, but nothing I have tried has worked. The solutions I found here that may have worked at one time, but they no longer work; one link that's two years old takes me to a page that is telling me how many Amazon Photo users have shared photos with me, the other one that's just a little over a month old takes me to a MEGA page that states the content is no longer available for any of three reasons, one of which could be it violated their terms of use. Searching on hp.com had me going in circles, I would click on a link that would send me to a page that had another link that when clicked sent me right back to the original page. The videos on the hp.com drivers page were no help either because they instructed me to do things I had already done with no success. Windows update was no help either as all of my drivers were up to date.

I don't know if it's worth buying a USB scanner, (I can't afford anything that Bluetooth or wireless), or an external optical drive to try using the installations CD, (I can always use it to play my antique CDs. I'm thinking that this printer cannot be used with a Windows 11 PC, so whether or not it can be used with Windows 11, any assistance that can be provided to me would be greatly appreciated.

F380 is too old model to be supported in W11, you might get it to print, but to scan very unlikely.

Hello @FerRX, Thanks for your continued support, that worked! I would have let you know sooner, but I received a new medical device and was setting it up the way I like.

Since I can't add many icons to my desktop, I added it to the start menu and then moved it to the front so I could access it easier. It would be a lot easier if I only had to double click on an icon. I don't like having the taskbar full of icons, otherwise I would add it there. I may eventually do that, time will tell.

Again, thank you for your help.
