need driver for officejet J6480 x64 windows. Says it's unavailable. HP smart doesn't see the printer so I can't use it. It is on the same network as I can ping it.

Hi @Jon1212,

I'd like to help!

HP Officejet J6480 All-in-One Printer driver for windows 10 is not available from the HP website or Software Update. However, you can install the printer with Windows built-in driver.

Refer to the document to know-how-https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/ish_2224996-1993298-16

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I am using Windows 10 not 11. The issue is I need a driver. In the printer setup under the HP printer name it says "driver unavailable" so I can't do anything. The scanner works. The printer is seen by the network. I can see it on the network in file manager. I just need a driver from HP. HP SMart can't see it to add it either.

We do not have a driver available for windows10 OS for HP Officejet J6480 All-in-One Printer.

I'd recommend you use windows, built-in driver, as suggested in the above post.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for responding but the issue is after the device is added under the printer name  (HP  Officejet J6400 series) it says "Driver is unavailable" and the only option is to "Remove Device".  None of the printer programs see the printer so its is looking for a driver and apparently it is not seeing any windows drivers either.

The scanner portion works but none of the HP printer programs (like HP Smart) can find the printer. So any other help would be appreciated. Apparently there is no way to contact someone at HP.

We have tried all the troubleshooting steps from our end, I think this issue needs some additional technical assistance that can be better provided through one-on-one interaction or a remote session with our HP Support team.

Please reach out to HP Support (contact info can be found on the home page) in your region for further assistance.

Hope this helps!

It does not help as it says driver is unavailable so the printer portion , which is he main function is useless. The scanner portion works. Is there no one at HP that I can talk to in person and do a shared screen to figure it out?

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Select the chat or get phone number options based on your preferences.

6)Fill the web-form and proceed further.

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. I tried that already. Here's the issue when I enter the serial number so I can't get past this.

Sorry, no results match your search for "MY8435B11F04ZX"

That is the serial number that prints out from the HP network configuration page

 Hi @Jon1212 ,

Try to install the next driver from the link:

Even when the driver is for a different printer model, it could help on making the printer "available" for Windows.

* Click on YES option  to say thanks,

* Click on the button Accepted Solution if the question is answered.

Best regards,
