Hi @okr1

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for reaching out—it's understandable how frustrating it can be when your printer isn't recognized properly on a newer macOS version like 15.0 Sequoia.

The HP OfficeJet 6700 may not have a dedicated driver package for macOS 15.0, but there are still reliable ways to restore full printing and scanning functionality.

Recommended Setup Options for macOS 15.0 Sequoia

1. Use AirPrint (No Driver Required)

Your OfficeJet 6700 supports AirPrint, which allows macOS to print and scan without installing HP-specific drivers.

  • Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners
  • Click Add Printer
  • Select your printer from the list
  • Ensure Use: AirPrint is selected
  • Complete setup and test print/scan

AirPrint typically supports both printing and scanning over Wi-Fi or Ethernet, provided the printer is on the same network.

2. Install HP Printer Drivers v5.1 (Legacy Package)

If AirPrint doesn’t provide full functionality, you can try installing HP’s legacy driver package manually.

  • Download the HP Printer Drivers v5.1 for macOS
  • Install the package and restart your Mac
  • Re-add the printer via System Settings > Printers & Scanners
  • Choose the HP OfficeJet 6700 driver from the list

Note: This package was designed for macOS up to version 12, but some users have reported partial compatibility with macOS 15.0 when installed manually.

Let me know how it goes. Let’s make sure your OfficeJet 6700 works smoothly with Sequoia.
