Hi @Khan1963,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you want to set up your HP LaserJet M234sdw using only a USB cable and no internet:

Step 1: Prepare the Printer

  1. Unbox and connect the power cable.
  2. Load paper into the tray.
  3. Install the toner cartridge if not already installed.
  4. Turn the printer ON.

Step 2: Connect via USB

  • Plug the USB cable directly from the printer to your computer.
  • Avoid hubs or docking stations for initial setup.

Step 3: Install Drivers (Offline)

Since you have no internet:

Choose Full Feature Software and Driver for Windows or macOS.

Step 4: Add Printer Manually

  • On Windows
    • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Add a Printer.
    • Select USB001 Virtual Printer Port for USB.
  • On macOS
    • Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners > Add Printer.
    • Select the HP LaserJet from the list.

Step 5: Disable Network Prompts

  • During installation, choose USB connection only.
  • Skip the HP app setup since it requires the internet.

Step 6: Test Print

Print a test page from Printer Properties to confirm setup.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
